The picture above shows where the background will be visible, the manga strip will stay, but the box around it with zoro and zaraki will not. The background will also be visible at the side of the content and sidebar.
A few specifics: Image size 1920×1080 should be sufficient, must be less than 100kb in space, must fit the design. Other than that, the size above the “jump to menu” is 115px, the content box is 960px (area that wont show – except for the part above).
You’re free to choose colors and what not, but with 100kb limit and that size – needless to say your options are limited.
When you’re done, submit your work over at the forum. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

I really like it how it is now. When watching anime I want to concentrate about the anime, and not the design on the webpage. Like it is now, I can fully concentrate on the anime without beeing distracted by the design, which btw looks really good as it is now.
Anywae, I love this site. T’is my favourite place to watch anime, and I love the chat as well, there’s some awesome people on there.
I agree with Benny. I love the website the way it is now. Any fancy stuff only detracts from the main purpose of the site and makes it look like you’re trying too hard to please. May also make the page load slower as well which is a definite negative as each episode requires a total page load unless AJAX is used.
Simple is often better in the realm of website design.

I find I agree with Benny. There are other anime sites out there, I know. They have the bright blue backgrounds, and the flashing advertisements, and the Naruto-orange banners. I prefer this site because of the black background, and dark type. It lends a theatre-like feel, which I value when I’m trying to focus on the video. Changing the color scheme would only lead to irritation.
Please don’t change the color scheme!
